How many participants for a successful eFootball tournament?

From 8 to 32 players in 1v1: with matches around 10 minutes, a 16-player bracket wraps up in one evening. Beyond 32, plan qualifying groups or spread the tournament over several sessions.

Which format works best: direct elimination or groups?

Groups followed by a final bracket (the Groups + Bracket format on Clutch) maximise matches for everyone — nobody goes home after a single loss. For an express evening, double elimination in BO1 works great.

How are match scores handled?

Each player submits their match score from their phone; if both entries match, the result is confirmed automatically and the bracket advances on its own. If they disagree, the organizer settles it from the dashboard.

Can I run it online and on-site?

Both: online with email check-in, or on-site with QR code check-in at the door. The bracket is public and updates in real time, so players follow the competition from any screen.

The eFootball competitive scene

The eFootball scene rebuilt itself around 1v1: quick ten-minute matches, very active console communities and a home-and-away culture inherited from real football. It's one of the easiest games to run tournaments for — no teams to coordinate, just players and a bracket.

On Clutch, an eFootball tournament runs as round robin or direct elimination with two-legged ties, solo registration in a few clicks, player-submitted scores with automatic confirmation, and an ELO ranking that tracks everyone's progression from tournament to tournament.
