What tournament formats are available?

6 formats: single elimination, double elimination, groups + bracket, Swiss, Round Robin and FFA Free-For-All. The FFA format is ideal for games like Mario Kart, Smash Bros or battle royales.

Can my players register online?

Yes. Each tournament has its own public page with registration and integrated payment via Stripe. When the tournament is full, a smart waitlist takes over: players are automatically promoted when a spot opens up. Each player also has a public profile with their stats and history.

How does registration payment work?

Accepted Answer

Your players pay online via Stripe. The money goes directly to your bank account via Stripe Connect. Clutch only takes a 5% commission (€0.50 min.) per transaction. For tournaments with cashprize, the prize pool is automatically held in escrow: players know their winnings are guaranteed and automatically distributed to winners at the end of the tournament.

Does Clutch replace Challonge or Toornament?

Yes, and it goes further. Unlike Challonge or Toornament, Clutch integrates paid registrations via Stripe (you collect directly), QR and online check-in, configurable prize pools, player profiles with stats, smart waitlists and tournament duplication. Whether you organize on-site or 100% online, everything is included in the free plan.

Does Clutch work for online tournaments?

Yes, 100%. Clutch supports both on-site and fully online tournaments. Your players register and pay online, the bracket is shareable, and scoring is done from their phone. No physical venue required.

How much does it cost?

The Free plan is free forever: unlimited tournaments, 6 formats, paid registrations, live brackets, player profiles with ELO and badges. The Pro plan at €49/month excl. VAT adds competitive circuits, embed widgets, public API, Discord notifications and priority support. 15% off annual subscriptions. Clutch takes a 5% commission (€0.50 min.) on customer payments.

Do brackets update in real time?

Yes. Powered by Supabase Realtime, brackets update instantly for all viewers as soon as a score is confirmed. No page refresh needed. Clutch is also a PWA: install the app and get push notifications when your match is ready.

Can I import my tournaments from Challonge or Start.gg?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Clutch lets you import an existing tournament from Challonge or Start.gg in a few clicks. Participants are fetched automatically and a draft is created on Clutch, ready to publish.

How does the social system (follow, comments) work?

Accepted Answer

Your spectators can follow organizers and players to get notified about new tournaments. They can also comment on tournaments in real time. Comments are moderable by the organizer. Everything is included in the Free plan.
